*The Blue Knight* feels like a product of its era—a gritty character study of a weary, cynical cop who's been on the force too long. William Holden’s performance injects life into the role, adding depth to a character hanging on by a thread. While Holden’s portrayal keeps things engaging, the film drags on, leading to an unsatisfying conclusion that doesn’t quite justify its slow burn.
