The story follows Yukiko, a single mother who raised her son Yuichi alone after divorcing her husband. When Yuichi becomes a school truant, Yukiko brings him to a mountain facility/cram school run by Director Narumi that takes in troubled children. There, she meets Tadao, a man from a trading company who brings his own troubled/acting-out daughter. The two single parents grow close and eventually fall into a complicated romance amid the struggles of parenting and institutional schooling.
