The Falklands Play

Gripping account of the Thatcher government's handling of the Falklands War provides a surprisingly sympathetic portrait of Thatcher's hard-nosedness, without sugar-coating the devastating consequences of her actions. Hodge's marvellous performance deserves most of the credit, and she is surrounded by a sturdy supporting cast of reliable British actors. Falters only in its depiction of the U.S. characters (all too obviously Brits with bad accents) and Sherman's cartoonish, buffoonish Reagan.
