A 2h Pilot for the Mini-series ('77) and Series ('78-'79) to follow, and it does a good job setting up the characters and the challenges they had going into the US Civil War and heading West. Some story-shortcuts are taken to set things up, but I don't mind that - but then my nostalgia for this and what followed are immense. *Preview*: #14#, rewatch(5) }**{ #82#, story.
