Although he has sullied his name in recent years, I am still a fan of Joss Whedon's work. This, like other Whedon shows, starts out slow, but has enough there to pull you in to wanting to see more. Each episode things start getting more interesting, and the midseason finale for season 1 just took it up to 11. It reminded me a lot of the first season finale of Dollhouse, giving us a glimpse of what was yet to come. I'm excited to see more. EDIT: Second half was not as good.

I'm of the conviction that anything good Joss Whedon supposedly did over his career only became good when the writer's room (most notably Marti Noxon) took it over. This was alright, though, which makes me wonder about the extent of Whedon's involvement.
