A travesty of the book - one of the greatest non-fiction books written which catapulted Niall Ferguson to stardom simply does not measure up to TV personality Ferguson. Luckily failing such a high standard still leaves wide scope for a superb programme. But bar a few snippets this is not the film version of the book. Instead be prepared for politician Ferguson (EU etc.) rather than the financial history which he is rightly brilliant at. The other historians give him a beating for it.
