Half way through S01, great acting, engaging storyline, Martin Freeman taking a slightly overwrought plot (could his life get any worse?) and carrying it very well.

The maddeningly overused stun/tinnitus effect that is very painful physically and mentally for viewers with hearing problems or tinnitus (and anyone else who doesn't want to hear a 30 seconds 10khz bleep 10 times per episode which is not an exaggeration!!) is a function of the overall overdramatization in production and acting. The volume is on 11 all the time which just made me laugh and feel like imitating it. It's been a week and i'm still doing my "Responder-bit". Not an endorsement mate
