Directions a little flat and lifetime-y musical accents don't help but it's an interesting story and Garner -with some good support- carried it pretty well. A pleasant surprise that could perhaps have made more of it's psychoanalytical framing.

Felt like they were taking too many shortcuts with the story, acting and production values for this Marilyn Monroe tribute. Kelli Garner as Marilyn was okay, but a bit uneven, which got a little annoying after a while. Susan Sarandon as the mentally deranged mother wasn't really hitting in the zone either. And when you erase all glitz and glamor from Marilyn's life, the portrayal becomes fairly empty.
