I love how the only review here is from the kind of guy who would have paraded around with a 'Why not peace with Hitler' sign back in the day. Check out his top ratings, they're a treat!

Definitely worthwhile (and still painful) subject matter, but Burns doesn’t really find a new way to explore these horrors of horrors that hasn’t already been done in umpteen similar documentaries of the last 50 years – it’s a message that still needs to be heard, and maybe every generation needs and warrants its own go-round, but it doesn't provide anything new or groundbreaking. Celebrity cameo voice overs are more of a distraction than an asset, especially Herzog’s unmistakable tenor.

"The time to stop genocide is before it happens...the time to stop it is before it happens - Deborah Lipstadt. While not of the calibre of 'Shoah' and its sister films ('A Visitor from the Living'; Sobibór, October 14, 1943, 4 p.m.; and 'The Karski Report') or 'The Sorrow and the Pity,' this is still a film that everyone ought to watch as part of their duty to appreciate the full significance of the Holocaust.

Here we go, another Kenny Burns polemical dressed up as a documentary. A number of problems: Scepticism of any claim made is the equivalent of holocaust denial. Being at all against immigration in any sense means you're pro-Nazi. Don't want to send young men into the meat grinder? Isolationist! Deborah Lipstadt looks like Richard Kind in drag, not to mention treating her as if she's the sole arbiter of truth; just one of those Ken Burns things.
