toothless, unfunny the thick of it/the office thing.

Utterly unfunny televised lullaby. Quirky and transgressive in that special "watch Hugh Bonneville not play a very stuffy aristocrat, but a mildly stuffy senior manager instead!" kind of way. An establishment satire rife with back-slapping establishment cameos. Markedly worse than its Australian inspiration "The Games", which was at least reasonably funny. Also much worse than the creator's late-90s series "People Like Us", which was damn near brilliant. Time makes hacks of us all.
