Vampire in the Garden tells a touching, melancholic story of connection across conflict. Its world is beautifully drawn, the bond between the leads is emotional, and the themes of freedom, identity, and coexistence shine through. Although the anime is short and some plot points feel rushed, its atmosphere and music leave a lasting impression. Despite its flaws, it is a poetic anime that is worth watching.

A blend of fantastic emotional melisma and horrible narrative decisions. Perhaps it's sappy, but the thematic strength on the challenges of individual happiness at odds with society elevates the relationship with its use of production value, especially at the ending. On the other hand, the series flirts with a much broader world beyond the core relationship but fails to do much with it, wherein the world building often comes across as non-sensical and the supporting cast ends up being limp.

An unbelievably beautiful story that avoids excessive reliance on anime tropes. Also remarkable in its blending of romance with vampires while entirely avoiding being adolescent.
