During the first half this is a pretty interesting throwback to Chappelle's adolescence and career beginnings. His presence is captivating, and the storytelling style fits him like a glove; in fact, the more personal material brings out a warmth and some genuine humour that have been long missing from his stand-up. But things take a nosedive in the second part. His remarks on art seem like a generic, tone-deaf attempt at eulogizing himself, and now and then he sounds so arrogant it's staggering.
