Mini-Review: Dispels all those myths about love that have been dispelled a thousand times before. It's pretty funny though.
Mini-Review: You don't have to love Paris to enjoy this movie. It's a love letter to unfulfilled nostalgia, which I think we can all relate to. Paris just happens to be the perfect synecdoche.
Mini-Review: One of the best superhero movies ever. Whedon really understands the appeal of comic books; the comedy, the action, the over-the-top dialogue. It all comes out in The Avengers and to great effect.
Mini-Review: It was fine.
Mini-Review: Not as good as "World's Greatest Dad", which is still one of my favourite comedies. This is the exact wake-up call/love letter people like me need. Just because you're nice doesn't mean you need to stand for bullshit. It isn't a subtle movie but it isn't trying to be subtle either.
Mini-Review: It was legitimately okay.
Mini-Review: [Spoilery] Incredibly compelling. I rarely see movies that focus on the transient romances of our lives. The ones that don't work out sometimes make the deepest impressions.
Mini-Review: Wasn't sure I'd enjoy "Ozark noir" but this was pretty good.
Mini-Review: One of the most profoundly touching, sad and beautiful films I've ever seen. Silent animation seems to strike a raw nerve with me. It cuts deep but the hurt is so good.
Mini-Review: I had a pretty fractured viewing of this one. Took me a few days of disconnected watchin before I got through it but that didn't diminish the quality. I don't think anyone could deny the depth of talent involved both on and off screen. It's a bit of a letdown: A good movie made by an amazing production team.
