I didn't connect emotionally with it at all. All these silly caricatures are not only incredibly annoying to watch, but also most of them seem to spend the entirety of the film either shouting at each other (there's *a lot* of shouting), being jealous, being spiteful, etc. If you ignore the ghost-man then there are no attempts at humour (except to seemingly mock the characters), no attempts at moments of tenderness, and no attempts to make us sympathise with these people.
