Apart from the overly abrupt ending for such a build-up, Alimony Madness (1933) is a solid independent film. Takes a tragic tale of fixed divorce and alimony giving it the courtroom twist. It's not miracle film making as it's clearly on a tight budget, but I felt they got enough despair and human heart into the situation, much thanks to Helen Chandler presence.
