A cinematic essay about the restrictions of constrained perspective, it intertwines a bunch of philosophical and political ideas that don't really fit together or make a coherent whole. Considering the way it's using very selective perspectives and lenses to view everything it presents in the film it's incredibly tempting to call it out on doing exactly what it's talking about. In any case, the presentation is very tedious in form, and I just don't feel this has much to say that isn't obvious.

Wenn ich ein Professeur der Politikwissenschaft oder der irgendeinen Sozialwissenscahft waere, würde ich bestimmt diesen Film als ein Begleiter und Hilfsmittel fürs Buch "Dialektik der Aufklaerung" empfehlen. Farocki betont dass die ganze Geschichte der Rationalitaet und Wissenschaft ist ein Versuch, die Welt unter Herrscahft zu bringen. Deshalb ist der Humanismus so eine gefaehrliche Idee, sie will in den Körpern durchdringen und die Bedeutung der jeden Objekt zu besitzen, wie im Krieg.
