Amusing as this gets at times, it's really a mess seemingly without any purpose. It's basically 30 minutes of a crazy guy with a weird voice telling rambling incoherent stories accompanied alternately by him dressed in odd costumes and a blank screen.

Thirty minutes of random crap from a crazy guy. It's baffling how this could make it onto any "Must Watch" list...

There are snatches within this which are worth viewing - its subject Jack Smith is capable in being a fascinating subject when his thoughts are on point, especially his perverse take on nuns going insane years before the late Ken Russell created a film around the idea. The problem is that it feels too erratic, not deep enough for documentary or structured or lurid enough for an experimental film. Smith's own films like Flaming Creatures are far more striking works than this.

Complete mess,maybe it was important for the time but easily the worst movie on the '1001 movies you must see...' list
