El Valley Centro

Viewed February 2, 2022. A bleak portrait of a unique agricultural area and all of the ways humans use and abuse the land. Oil fires burn up into the air, eerily reflected by the lake on the other half of the frame; people pick grapes or monotonously tie up the same poor goat in a rodeo ring. Benning's sense of atmosphere and attention to detail (or lack of it) is basically unparalleled.

I imagine Benning is either made for you or completely alien to your sensibilities. I'm in the former category.
