Exile in Buyukada

Stalin forced Leon Trotsky into exile in 1929. A highly influential figure within the October Revolution of 1917 which brought the Bolsheviks to power and heralded the birth of the Soviet Union. Trotsky was to remain in exile until he died in 1940, after being attacked at his home with an ice pick by a Stalinist agent. This documentary examines the years he spent in Buyukada, Istanbul (1929-1933).
