Hush

Severely underrated Hollywood trashfest with Jessica Lange dragging the Grand Guigol heydays of Bette Davis and Joan Crawford movies kicking and screaming into the 90s. Has a real nasty streak for a "bad movie" that keeps things interesting. Shut the brain off, enjoy the weirdness.

Jessica Lange is creepy in this, but she cranks her performance up about six notches too far. John Schaech & Nina Foch, however, are actually quite good. But ultimately this one's pretty forgettable, & there are plenty of better films in the genre.

Knowing what an unpleasant piece of vulture goo-- I mean poop Paltrow is in real life, I found it hard to root for her character. Not a particularly memorable cinematic endeavour. The mother-in-law could have started terrorizing Paltrow way sooner with more cleverer mind-games. Anti-climatic ending was the turd cherry on top.

How can you not have a good time watching "Hush"? It's got Jessica Lange as a aggressively wicked Mother-in-Law and Gwenyth Paltrow as a sugary-sweet punching bag for her to abuse. Fun-fun-fun!
