A really cold presence from Akim Tamiroff as the head mob boss in town. Buster Crabbe was oddly suave too. Lloyd Nolan was the party of this mildly dry crime flick, drawing some good personality out of Claire Trevor in the process. Wasn't terribly exciting or anything, but had some appeal. Does try to get a serious story going, just lacks the proper dynamite to ignite it.
