Bo Widerberg brings realism and social realism to Sweden in the heyday of symbolistic, psychologistic Ingmar Bergman. with this superbly written coming-of-age period drama. It's all in those flavorful, sometimes off-topic details, situations and little bits of dialogue, that give such a strong tangible sense of time and place. I think even better than "Pram".

Beautiful look on class and human condition without over-simplyfing.

Everyone starts as a level 1 human with no class. Or rather, nothing but class.
