A charming, but very loose Czechoslovakian comedy from the silent days. Taking a lot of inspiration from American slapstick and just going with the flow, seemingly improvising a lot early on with curious on-lookers wondering what was going on over there. Clearly the main problem is that it's too long. The print I saw was 1 hr 38 min, and there was barely material for half that length, so it ends up dragging a lot once the playful start was over and the love story portion of the film got going.
