A well-made short film that chronicles a brief period in the life of a bridge operator and his son. The treatment of the subject is in the style of a parable, which is effective in the little amount of time that the film has. It also helps as the pure sentiment of the subject could be easily overplayed in a traditional film. With the shorter format, those sentimental moments tend to be underplayed--limited dialogue and wider shots. This helps to give the film resonance.
