Nocturnal

Drab and somber drama is maddeningly unfocused and underdeveloped, seeming to base much of its impact on a fairly obvious central story twist, which turns the film unsettling and grotesque, thanks to the Jarvis character's inexplicable behaviour in developing the relationship with Coe. Both actors fare well enough with the material given, but with these paper-thin characters doing the strangest of things, they can only travel so far.
