Nam Jin-gu is a character straight out of a Godard film; the ladies’ man who is not very good with the ladies and who seems cool but who is actually a dag. In fact, the film has top-tier Godard written all over it: the clearly demarcated episodic structure; the ever-elusive pretty girl; the playful yet serious exploration of love; the celebration and resentment of cinema; and the use of juxtaposed music (in relation to the image) to grab the attention of the viewer.

I love its presentation. The last short alone makes it totally worth watching.

Some films you have to work too hard at and this is one of them.
