Ravi Prasad (Prem Nazir) & his brother Gopan (Ramu) live their lives around their little sister Sindhu (Nalini) who was mute. Ravi marries nurse Prabha (Seema) & they have a baby, but they separate after a misunderstanding. Prabha's evil cousin Natarajan (Raghu), a serial killer, murders Sindhu, with Prabha's son the only witness to the murder.
