Miike isn't that good at comedy and I was concerned that this would be one of his goofy outings however I was pleasantly surprised that this was a serious, though light-hearted gangster film. Riki Takeuchi isn't in snarl mode here, he seemed to be going for a cool suave characterization and it worked. Most everyone did average to decent with no real standouts, not even Riki. The pacing is uneven and the movie sags a bit in the middle which is a real determinant to an under 90-minute film.
