Couldn't give two shits about ice hockey but this was engaging. Very human story about a ragtag group of small-town faces variously beaten by life & opportunity. Some of them very young chasing their dreams, others middle-aged looking back on their lives. All of them wrestling with their hopes & regrets on the ice. Very well balances the small personal stories and the only slightly less small story of their shared struggle. Technically fine, lets the material breathe & doesn't overdo anything.
