Please Don't Eat the Daisies

A simple story but very well written, directed and executed, due to the superb performances by Day (she really is excellent in this), Niven and Paige, not to mention all the bit players (including Len 'Uncle Leo' Lesser in an uncredited role as a waiter at Sardi's). A much more complex and poignant film than first meets the eye. It's neither screwball or musical and is not a combination of these either, rather it is a very unique 'family film'.

A little slow. We could never figure out what she saw in a demanding, self-absorbed husband like that. Worth it to see Doris Day's performance, tho she's not given much to work with.

Pretty abrasive, even for a musical.
