After extremely interesting environmental beginning the story went the direction I did not like. There was a nice connection to several familiar fairy tales, like Gulliver and Alice in the Wonderland. And I really loved the (lost?) 1970 Czech buildings and especially one certain ruins. The story bore not much interesting parts.

There are a fair number of films that describe the absurdities of life in Communist Czechoslovakia, but this is my favorite so far. It's like a very funny nightmare. A shame that Jurácek was banned from making any films after this.

Jurácek's light adaptation of one of Gulliver's lesser known travels is rightfully often described as Kafkaesque, cause the viewer like the protagonists has very little understanding what's going on most of the time. While some incomprehensible movies can be engaging nonetheless, this one just lost and bored me too often. The best thing about this is def the clear b/w cinematography.
