Robo Ji (2012)
Three employees of the Kimura Electrical Company are due to present a new robot to an important robot exhibition in the coming days, but after an accident in which the robot is destroyed, to save their job and the company reputation, they decide to hire an actor to get inside the remains of the robot. All the usual Shinobu Yaguchi stylings are there, but it all comes together as a lesser entry in the filmography. I think his style works best when the subject at hand is something you can really immerse yourself into and dissect, like music or forestry. Doesn't quite work with the abstract idea of "robots." Still lots of great gags though.
