Sophie and the Rising Sun

Julianne Nicholson was beautiful and a real treat. Her performance was subtle and impeccable. Margo Martindale also gave a marvelous performance. The love story was satisfying. Set in the early 40's it did not shy away from disturbing portrayals of racism, intolerance, and injustices. Takashi Yamaguchi was also good, as was the supporting cast. The story and premise seemed credible and it was easy to have empathy for these characters. Engaging and entertaining. Well worth watching.
