Summer Night, with Greek Profile, Almond Eyes and Scent of Basil

I was enjoying this film, and then it turned into a porno.

This is basically an elaborate sexual fantasy, and in a way, a political fantasy. The personal relationships and class and gender politics are conceptually purified, simplified, isolated, to concoct a narrative elixir enticing to the auteur's imagination. My first reaction was to think that there is nothing here that Wertmüller hadn't done far more elegantly in Swept Away. True, this is nowhere near as good and Placido is no Giannini. But there's something more naked here, something kinky.
