The Flying Irishman (1939) is a total gimmick picture. The life story of once famous aviator Douglas 'Wrong Way' Corrigan starring.... Douglas 'Wrong Way' Corrigan!!! Yes, RKO paid him a ton of money for his biography and had him play himself. He was famous for "accidentally" making a cross-Atlantic flight after being refused to make an official flight. Since he wrote a lot of it himself, the conman-pilot sanctifies himself to sickening lengths through dreary narration and questionable acting.
