One of the earliest surviving Tom Mix westerns! The Law and the Outlaw (1913) shows why westerns were not a regarded genre by critics, even back int he 1910s. You see people riding horses and chase each other, but the films are shot without much care to build personalities and therefore the troubles lose most of it's appeal. If this is a representation of Mix's output in the early days then it's easy to understand why his rise to fame was slow.
