The Longshot

As odd, funny, and ill-advised as you might expect of a self-penned Tim Conway vehicle directed by Paul Bartel (often all at once), caught between playing to its pathetic characters' prejudices and eviscerating them, cramming in enough loony visual gags to confuse the difference nicely. There is a biting progression in slapstick castration anxiety, from verbal emasculation to blunt force trauma to outright slice 'n dice, but the ending is pure blue balls
