A naive love story of a soldier in puppy love with a performer he saw during the war. The story is only so-so with decent performances from Stuart Erwin & Charles Boyer. But what increases the experience is Ruth Chatterton as the night club singer. You get an idea what a great show performer she really was in her day. Quality singing, excellent French and a wonderful reenactment of the death scene in the story of Camille are among the added tidbits we are served from Chatterton.
