The Man Behind the Mask estreava há 85 anos no Reino Unido. Esse filme ficou perdido por muito tempo e a única cópia encontrada foi a edição americana com 25 minutos a menos, mas como é um quota quickie, provavelmente esses minutos não fazem muito diferença no resultado geral. Penultimo filme de Powell antes de se encontrar com Pressburger, sem ele ainda faria o excelente The Edge of the World no ano seguinte e sairia de vez da função de diretor pau mandado. In The Man Behind the Mask (1936) they just make up stuff without explaining much. A British crime chase, of sorts, directed by Michael Powell, that'll not go down as one of his better films. Sure it has some of that old British charm, but the story is all over the place.
