The Man from Earth: Holocene

Disappointingly bad given the original. The plot is nuts, and it's lit like a hallmark movie of the week.thus really doesn't need to be turned in to a series or a franchise

I waited so eagerly for this to come out as the original still remains one of my favorite movies.This iteration is nothing short of a devastating let down.The dialogue is amateurish, the plot goes in 'unexpected directions', and instead of broadening the lore of the enigmatic caveman, it turns into an episode of criminal minds.Maybe without Bixby's story the script writers just couldn't provide the charm that made the original so unforgettable. I had unwavering hope for this but thumbs down.

10 years later they make another one and fail miserably. This is nothing like the first one. The first was special in every way (go watch it), this was just an ordinary bad b-movie.

Not as thought-provoking as the first movie, though the new angle of seeing things through the college students was a fresh change. The angry spiteful professor/former friend doesn't make sense. Vanessa Williams was underutilized. The slutty friend...I'm not sure what her purpose was. Overall disappointing. Fav scene: basement interaction with the diehard born again Christian.

Disappointing to see the philosophical bent of the first movie replaced with a mystery plot led by college students.

Interesting sequel that explores it in a nice way, however it doesn't really try anything too crazy and is a bit of more of the same.

The Man from Earth is one of my all time favorite movies. As a backer of the Kickstarter project, I have to say it just doesn't work with me. Script was all over the place, and it's partly because they intend to make this into series.
