The Dr. Kildare series continues with the spin-off of Dr. Gillespie, with Lionel Barrymore as the lead character with Van Johnson & Keye Luke competing to become his assistant, basically to take over the Lew Ayres spot. It's a familiar routine. Good wholesome story, likable characters. A family feel. Not the most revolutionary plot, but it did what it was supposed to, and no more.
