Tiger Bay

A rough UK production takes away from a very solid performance by Anna May Wong. It's the typical Oriental setting of their district being invaded by thugs and Wong takes things into her own hands to handle the situation. She's also the guardian of a white girl who falls in love with a naive boy. There is plenty going on, but very little of it is well executed enough to make this a thrilling experience. But at least one can take from it a rare leading role for Anna May Wong.
