The second movie Grigoriy Roshal did. I've enjoyed his Salamandra (1928) from the same year and Yego prevoskhoditelstvo (1928) is alright too. The final moments with the clown performance and the assassination attempt builds up nicely. The rest feels a little on/off and one requires the viewer to pay close attention to not loose the thread of the movie. But it follows a typical theme of the Soviet reds fighting the authority.
