Svend come back after a year of travel as a mate. Inger and Svend's father has been waiting him with longing. Conversely, Svends brother Thorsten, jealousy at Svend. Both of Inger's love for Sven and because Svend take over the family fishing boat. After a new argument in the family takes Svend space with another skipper, so that Thorsten can get the boat. When the stranger Martin Poulsen arrives at a cosy little fishing village as the heir to one of the boats and a house in the harbour - and unwilling to sell - it comes as an inconvenient obstacle in the plans of the local fisherman baddie.
The film is based on the comic strip by Kaj Engholm and Olaf Hast. It was the inaugural film in a series of eight Father of Four films made by ASA Films, one each year from 1953 to 1961.
This is about a family dad - father of four who wins a trip to Norway to go skiing with his children. He wins it from the local newspaper, because two journalist from the paper, sees him going to work, being kind to others, helping people on the bus and so on. One of the journalist is going on the trip also to take pictures of the family, and a little romance comes to light between the journalist and the eldest daughter of the children.

The boy is sent to the landlord's cousin in Texas to learn about cattle breeding on his large cattle farm. The landlord's good friend Pastor Pripp comforts him in his loneliness.
Cirkus Karla has been on tour 'in Germany and is now returning home to Denmark. The clown Laust (Peter Malberg) has gathered a young forerunner (Poul Reichhardt) on the road. He can remember nothing but his own name, but he sees a newspaper front page where Kurt is standing and so he calls for it. It turns out that Kurt is an excellent flute player, so together they form a clown number that will be a great success.
Vienna, 1946. Dr. Vedel takes in Leni Rosner, a young survivor from a concentration camp. He sends her to Denmark where she is welcome by the Lassen family. Leni finds a new balance among them, especially in the company of Hugo, the son. The latter, who is physically handicapped and teaches her Danish, also finds comfort by Leni, who cheers him up when morale is too low. As for Edith, Hugo's sister, she is in love with Jorgen Vedel but she asks him to give up working for the Red Cross.
