An archaeologist at a museum scolds his small, silent dog, Shep, for supposedly removing a bone belonging to a dinosaur skeleton and orders Shep to bring the bone back, but Shep finds that the place where he buried his most recent bone has been dug up and a bulldog is walking away with the bone in his mouth. Shep chases the bulldog with intent of retrieving the bone, and so begins a battle of wits between Shep and the bulldog. (imdb)

After an elderly toymaker closes his shop at night and goes home, all the toys come to life and have fun until he comes back in the morning.

An obnoxious little toddler boy scares and hits a whimpering puppy in his charge until his mother comes in and puts him to bed and scolds him for his cruelty. Asleep, the boy dreams that the puppy has grown to dinosaur size, bursting through walls, chasing down the brat until retribution looks nigh.

A small boy follows a leaping frog to the edge of a water-well and falls in. At the bottom of the well he encounters a water-fairyland, where water-babies ride in lobster chariots, float about and play polo on sea-horses. An octopus appears and chases the boy, but the frog pulls him up to safety.

Farm-boy Scrappy and his dog awaken at dawn and, all day long, they work in the fields only to have molesting crows undo their hard work, tear up the fields and eat the crops. They keep beating off the crows and finally win out just as the sun sets.

A music concert is disrupted, first by some weak buttons, and more notably by the bubble gum the violin soloist is chewing. Before that, the soloist annoys the conductor with an overly extended solo. The tubas keep blowing a toupee among the various bald musicians. Even though he gets increasingly tangled up in the sticky bubble gum, the violinist manages to play most of his notes (though he has to pluck a few when his bow is stuck).

Scrappy ges a Saint Bernard and drags it home from the pet shop. He introduces the huge beast to his parrot, Pete, and leaves them to get acquainted. Of course they have a comic battle. (imdb)

Oopie wants to join the Boy Scouts, against the wishes of Scrappy and the others.

Scrappy stops all the clocks in the house and then goes around the neighborhood stopping all the clocks. This also stops all the clocks in the world (don't ask), and everything stands still, including his pup, and all human beings and animals. (An animator's dream.). This scares him somewhat and he tries to re-start the clocks, and all moving things start to go backwards.

Told in flashback, the story explains why one of the bunnies in the classroom is so much bigger and older than his classmates. He devoted his early years to disrupting the class rather than studying and learning his lessons, with the result that he remained behind while the other students were promoted.

A worm teaches the early bird that they can't always be caught.

Scrappy is building a new house with the help -- if you can call it that, which you really can't -- of the irascible Pete the Parrot.
