Billy and Ben continually make a mess of things, having multiple accidents with their Taxi.

At a ritzy beauty salon, while a mud pack is on her face, a wealthy socialite invites Thelma and Patsy, two salon attendants, to a party, mistakenly thinking they are social acquaintances whom she wants to entertain a visiting count. Just before our working-class pair arrives at the party, the hostess is called away to see to an ill dog. Thelma tries to behave in a refined way, but Patsy, with a head full of practical jokes and a bra filled with trick gadgets, turns the party on its head.

Eddie MacIntyre is a press agent, talent scout and right-hand man to J.R.Russell, Producer/Director of Perfection Pictures, is planning a scheme in which he will "plant" his girl friend, actress Esther Harrington in the Ozark mountains and then "discover" her for the role of "Ruthybelle" in Perfection's upcoming production, "Thunder Over the Ozarks."

Dan Frazier is a U. S. Border Patrolman on the California-Mexico border whose hot temper and ready-fists keep him in trouble, both of which indirectly lead to the death of a fellow trooper. He resigns from the force in order to find out who was responsible. He believes it was a gang of smugglers, engaged in smuggling illegal aliens into the United States from Mexico, and in order to get inside the gang he fakes smuggling activities.

It is important to Joe and Mary Phillips and their baby Sandy that Joe's employer, the P. J. Barnett Company, get the contract to build Maylor bridge, because it means a pay raise for Joe. Joe's raise hinges upon Davis, the man in charge of bids for the city, accepting his estimate. To insure that Joe will get the raise, the Phillips invite Mr. Barnett to dinner. As Mary shops for the evening's festivities, she leaves Sandy in the charge of Billy Pepino.

A wife whose husband is away asks her decorator to impersonate her husband, to help her deal with a pest. Soon there is quite a web of confusion that also involves the decorator's girlfriend and the wife's suddenly returned husband.
