Television reporter Angela Vidal (Jennifer Carpenter) and her cameraman (Steve Harris) are assigned to spend the night shift with a Los Angeles Fire Station. After a routine 911 call takes them to a small apartment building, they find police officers already on the scene in response to blood curdling screams coming from one of the apartment units.
When hundreds of videotapes showing torture, murder and dismemberment are found in an abandoned house, they reveal a serial killer's decade-long reign of terror and become the most disturbing collection of evidence homicide detectives have ever seen. (imdb)
Based on a story by M. Night Shyamalan and directed by the brothers Dowdle (Quarantine helmers Drew and John Eric), this edgy thriller is set in an elevator, where a group of passengers are trapped with none other than the king of the underworld. Luckily for them, a homicide detective (Chris Messina) is on board. Not so luckily: the cop has issues of his own, including a not-so-long-ago-kicked addiction to alcohol.
