72 0% Despicable Me (2010) - Rated 20 Jan 2020
"The animation and the voice acting are both quite good. There a couple nice short set pieces such as the disco robots and Minion and the amusement park arcade scenes that I enjoyed. The story tries to have an emotional impact by having Gru and the girls form a bond but it felt forced and never really allowed the space needed to do so in a meaningful way. All in all I enjoyed this film and think this is one of the bette animated films in the last 10 years not a Pixar film,"
30 0% Paranormal Activity (2009) - Rated 14 Jan 2020
"This was a complete bore fest. The first hour is just doors opening and shutting and various noises. The last 15 minutes is a complete waste of celluloid as nothing is explained and the ending is beyond lame."
45 0% John Wick (2014) - Rated 11 Jan 2020
"While I came into this film knowing what to expect from it I still found it to be a largely boring film. The plot is merely there to serve the next hour plus of non stop action sequences. The said action sequences rely on mostly gunplay and were not all that interesting to watch. I never felt invested in the characters or the situation they were in and the final action set piece was a huge disappointment."
60 0% Ice Age (2002) - Rated 06 Jan 2020
"While being a bit short on plot the various set pieces were somewhat entertaining, the Dodo and Ice Slide sequences being the highlights of these for me. The animation is sparse but colorful and holds up well for a early 2000 CGI animated film. In conclusion I feel this film is one best left to the kids to watch as there is not much here for the adults to find much enjoyment in."
68 0% Hotel Transylvania (2012) - Rated 05 Jan 2020
"As a fan of classic horror films such as the Universal Monster movies of the 30's and 40's I was very interested in this film. It turned out to be another in a long line of animated film I have seen that while being entertaining and fun to watch is largely a shallow watch. The humor is sometimes hit or mostly miss, the story has been done countless times, and while there is plenty of classic horror fan service, which I liked, it never really felt like this film capitalized on its premise."
65 0% Rio (2011) - Rated 05 Jan 2020
"While not reaching the heights of the best of Pixar or Dreamworks Animated films I found this to be a fun watch. While the musical numbers were quite weak, I thought the animation was colorful and well done and I enjoyed the slapstick humor sprinkled throughout. The story itself was pretty middle of the road and had none of the depth the best animated films manage to bring to the table. In closing I feel that kids will enjoy this and parents may find some mild enjoyment with this film."
