"Heartbreaking, tenderness in all of its colors. It takes a keen eye to seize grief and show us, w/o telling. It suspends over us like a heavy cloak, albeit so masterfully depicted that it fails to swallow the underlying themes: sandbox love, family, innocence. This emotional clarity is shocking coming from a young director. This is a documentary. A cautionary tale about two boys who had what so few of us get to touch. Protect what makes your heart sing and what makes your days go by faster."

"Erotic and compelling, per Luca’s trademark. It fails to live up to his other films however. Editing is messy, unsure what the idea behind the time jumps were, it diluted the many moments of tension, which is the movie’s greatest attribute. Luca gracefully manage movements btw his actors, space is masterfully weaponized and the score is sublime. His usual spark was however missing. Almost seems like the major moments happened behind the scenes and we were left with their smoldering remains."
