60% The Beekeeper (2024) - Rated 26 Jul 2024
"Did I just watch a superhero movie? Don't care actually, I was entertained. It's bad and cheesy and derivative but this type of movie never gets old."
40% Split (2017) - Rated 25 Jul 2024
"The way multiple personality disorder is displayed as a laughing stock coated in so much torture porn didn't feel very enjoyable to me. It wasn't a bad movie mind you, I just didn't like it. Tales of abuse don't turn me on like they strangely seem to do so many others."
87% Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024) - Rated 14 Jul 2024
"Slices of life in the Wasteland. It's no Fury Road, but it's still wildly entertaining and beautifully directed. We'll miss George Miller when he's gone, how is he still giving us such well crafted action pieces? I hope that I will one day, like him, acquire the Immortan Joe recipe which allows a person to disregard the effects of aging. Can't wait to see what's next."
87% The Fall Guy (2024) - Rated 11 Jul 2024
"This movie has such a good vibe. It's not the greatest, not the most original, but it feels like people forgot to make movies like this one for the past 30 years. Makes me smile, and I like to smile. It's high noon at the edge of the universe!"
75% City Hunter (2024) - Rated 06 Jul 2024
"The crass sexism of the source material has never been my thing. This movie tries to make it work by having a more modern and respectful take on it, but I'm just not on board with that brand of laughs. This aside, what a wonderfully lively and unique movie, respectful of its source and enjoyable to watch. Recommended, if you can stand the primal booba stuff."
23% Barbarian (2022) - Rated 06 Jul 2024
"The horror part was good. The cinematography was great. The plot was intriguing. Doing a movie in a movie was awesome But the way the tie the whole story together using genetics as an explanation my brain left too confused to parse the ending. Did that character teleport under the girl during their fall? What in the…"
5% Wild Card (2015) - Rated 06 Jul 2024
"Did something happen? The movie ended and I'm still trying to figure out what the plot is. We barely got any action either. Boring bland and sad."
40% Crimes of the Future (2022) - Rated 26 Jun 2024
"I get what Cronenberg is trying to tell with this movie, but I wish the more artsy movie directors would make movies on topics other than art itself. It seems every auteur film is about film as a genre, if not frontally then at least under the surface. No David, I don't care how much of yourself you show in your movies, how much you sacrifice for me. I'm still just here to watch the weird set pieces you come up with, and won't bite at your pretentious message. Sorry."
75% Spree (2020) - Rated 24 Jun 2024
"This movie truly understands who the scariest people are in society nowadays. Incel sociopaths really do be creepy. The whole social media angle was laughably bad, but in a movie that doesn't take itself seriously I can suspend my disbelief and accept it. I actually vibed with the humor and the brand of horror, two rare things for me with this kind of movie. End of the lesson."
60% Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024) - Rated 23 Jun 2024
"Kaiju teamup battle CGI fiesta is the stupidest thing humanity has ever produced and I love us for it. What a really idiotic movie and universe, but after watching it I just want more, and how about we bring back Pacific Rim too for a crossover come on Universal let's get mechas involved again too."
